NEW LIFE IN THE SPIRIT (Ps)
This may fitly be called the “chapter of the Holy Spirit.” The Apostle has carefully kept this great theme in the background till he has well prepared the ground, by showing us our inability to attain our ideals apart from reinforcements of divine energy. Here is the motive power to drive our machinery! Here is the life-giving power of spring, which shall cause the seeds buried within us to burst forth in the garden of the Lord! See Isa_61:10-11.
Dear Lord, we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Please let us know the time to reflect on where we’ve been and to recall the lessons we’ve learned through our experiences. Help us not to give in to the temptations that come, so as not to be a victim of the difficulties we have endured. Let us rather use those lessons as a platform and a launching pad for greater wisdom and spiritual effectiveness, because they have made us strong and have the potential to increase our faith if we maintain a proper perspective. Lord, is it not that we have skimmed the surface of the knowledge of biblical concepts long enough? We open ourselves to allow You to bring us to greater knowledge and understanding of Your kingdom. Please open the scriptures to us in a way of deeper revelation. We desire to tap into more profound spiritual truth and to seek more diligently.
Rom 8:28 So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfil his designed purpose.
Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Isa 61:11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
